Mekong Delta has been known as a flat and fertile terrain surrounded by a cobweb of canals and rivers. After a 2-hour ride South Southwest from Saigon to Cai Be, we will embark on the Mekong King luxury wooden boat for a leisurely excursion to explore Cai Be waterways network. There will be lots of photo opportunities of rice barges, sand barges, fishing boats cruising back and forth the mighty river. The Mekong King boat also offers us a chance to visit local families to enhance more learning and discovery with 5 senses of how rice cracker, pop corn, pop rice and coconut candies are made. On arrival on Tan Phong island, hop on a local motorized buggy to explore this vast island passing numerous fruit orchards, visit one of the most verdant durian houses to taste fresh fruits from the garden. Return to the boat and further our excursion towards Dong Hoa Hiep Island to contemplate the peaceful sceneries for an idea of what it is like to lead a life along the Mekong River. A delicious lunch will await us inside a fruit orchard of a former Mandarin’s ancient house with different Mekong’s specialties. After lunch, enjoy a walk or take a ride on a small hand-rowing sampan back to the Mekong King boat to be transferred back to the Cai Be pier.
